In this thread we can discuss plans for scheduling video chats for practicing our conversation.

Excellent. I'm keen. I'm a bit behind on study thus far, owing to work, but if I have some kind of conversation planned I should be able to get to back to brezhoneg!

Is there a day of the week that would be particularly good (or bad) for everyone? Tuesdays and Fridays are generally terrible for me. Any other day works depending on the specific time, especially if we do it in ~1 hour or less chunks. It looks like São Paulo is only 4 hours ahead of Arizona and Boston is only 3 hours ahead (which should go down to 3 and 2 after daylight saving time changes, since Arizona doesn't believe in daylight saving time).

What exactly should we aim to do during these video chats? We can practice the dialogues in the book but it's probably useful to try to say novel things and be creative with the language if we can.

Waking up to all of this now. Looking at material and links you others have posted. Thank you all!

Wednesday is normally not a good day for me.

Looking forward to doing this.

I am fairly flexible and most days are ok. I have French classes on Friday mornings and will soon have Breton classes at some point in the week. It would be okay for me to chat with anyone in the US or Europe if the time in question coincides with my morning or afternoon on any of the days when I have neither class to do.

I think, as I said in my email sent today, that we should undertake some kind of pair activities to make life easier for everyone, considering the time differences. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to set up a spreadsheet on Google docs and then we can enter our available times and preferred chat times; we would have to decide on a timezone for doing so (like maybe GMT). If and when two of these coincide, then the pair in question can do a Skype chat.

I think we should definitely read the dialogues in the book and perhaps do some of the exercises together orally. We could also try and do something creative like write another dialogue based on the one in the lesson and then, once both have agreed that it is correct, practicing that.  We could also work on reading through (and attempting to undertand) that book that we got from the Mairie in Quimper.

Also, we should create a whatsapp group for all people interested in participating in these activities.

Actually, we should use the current time in Brittany as our time zone :-)

Hello, everyone,

Any time on Fridays would work for me considering other weekdays are focused on teaching and grading.

I've been a lot busier this semester than I had hoped, so I haven't been as vigilant about checking in here (or doing exercises from the book...) ;_;

Anyone who is available can certainly try to schedule a conversation, and if I can make it fit into my schedule I'll try to join, but for the time being I may focus on the written exercises (and post questions/discussion here on the other threads).
